Title: Remap time..
Post by: reedy20vturbo on 22 April 2014, 18:20
Would you guys say 230-240BHP was safe power for a 1.8t aum 87k with full vw service history, decat sport exhaust, s2000 filter and a forge fmd 008 recirculation valve? Remapped by celtic tuning?

Cheers

pretty sure nick @ r-tech can do the same and they know these cars inside out they have done that many of them

You don't want anti-lag on a Mk4 golf.

R-tech are top of the game for 1.8t tuning, if you're willing the travel to them then it's worth it.

Why not anti lag? I would like to go to r tech but it's to far away from me :(

if your getting a 'generic map' it wont be even in the same league as what the R-tech team can do! just take a quick google search to familiarise yourself how big and successful they are in the vag tuning community!! you wont be dissapointed  like me and the majority on here weren't!

and where have you got your figures from ?

Celtic Tuning are full of bold claims. I've yet to see them proven

I emailed them and they told me with my mods they could get it to 230-240bhp, rtech would be who I'd go to if it was closer, but it's to far away

Because it's not a rally car

Without a FMIC/TIP/N249 delete you won't see 230bhp.

as dom has said i have nothing but praise for r-tech and wouldn't go anywhere else my old 1.8t was running 232bhp with mods and a stage2 map and it felt awesome, come re-map time for me i know where i'll be going  known nick for a few years and he's a top bloke mate, worth the drive i went to them and i'm in newcastle,barrym381 is near glasgow distance no object if you don't travel to them why not ask to meet them half way they do mobile to :afro:

Anti lag is not a good idea on standard con-rods... pops & bangs do sound awesome but popping a rod would be devastating

I've done a few 200+ mile round trips now even dropped the car there for a week and wouldn't hesitate going back if needed another remap.

Nick is a top bloke and aside from probably being the best tuner for 1.8T's customer service there is second to none.

I had problems with the hardware on my car after being ripped off buying a dodgy turbo on here, got that all sorted out and went back down and remapped for the 3rd time - year on still goes like stink and not a single issue.

I have travelled 400 mile round trip to R-Tech twice now, and I even stayed over one night in a B&B a couple of weeks back for my third map from them! The R-Tech guys are just simply the BEST in the business, especially with the 1.8T engines. They won't make any tantalisingly tempting bold claims of power, but they will remap your car safely with care, love and attention to detail too!

400 miles is just a bit more than my travel there and i had to travel down leave the car then travel back down when it was ready
