Having a debate with my wife over dogs in the boot of a Golf.
Do you have dogs - if so, how much space is there in the back for your mutt(s)?
If anyone could post a pic of their dogs in the back their GTI, that could be very helpful!
Many thanks if you can help out!

Can't do pictures yet as the dog and the car have yet to be introduced but my Beagle/pointer cross (Collie sized) fitted in my old Astra VXR and the boot on the golf is loads bigger/more accessible(sp?)

Depends on the size of your dogs! We have a border terrier and he's got more than enough room for him and a friend. Our friends with a Rhodesian redback couldnt think about putting him in though....

our 40kg boxer had plenty of space in a mk7 he was in and fits in our old mk4 no problem

Our 10st bullmastiff was fine on the mk6 and the boot is supposed to be bigger on the mk7.

Hi
I have a spaniel lab x whos 30kg and size of a lab and mentality of a springer. He has plenty of room with boot on lower setting. We have a guard from Travall and can recommend them for guards..better and cheaper than vw.
oh and its a GTI.

Yes, Plenty for my 40Kg Lab... and I used to get him and a border collie in the back of my Edition 30 which had a slightly smaller boot, no problems...
As stated, depends on the size of your dog(s)...

Excellent replies, thanks all!
and thanks for the pic of the little (?!) fella in the boot.
This might all go some way towards reassuring my wife we should get a GTI after all. (Test drove an Octavia vRS Estate on the weekend … not the same thing at all, although there is tons of space in the back.)

Forgot to say, we have two dogs - a golden retriever and a collie-cross who is small, about terrier-size.

i think the Octavia is a great car sometimes think that is what I should of got saying all that you have described you 2 woofers and I think they will fit quite happily in the back of the golf not a problem

Charlie, going by the one we drove, you're much better off in the Golf - our demo Octavia had many rattles and they all seem to have a really uncomfortable boom in the cabin at slow speeds. You know the pressure on your eardrums you sometimes get if driving with the back window open? Like that …
