Anyone had coolant loss in their GTi ?
My coolant was half way between between Max and Min when it went in for it's first service in September with only 5500 miles or so on it. I asked the Stealers to check it, after a pressure test all was deemed OK.
Checked it again yesterday, car has now only got 7700 miles and the coolant was half way between between Max and Min again ! No leaks anywhere either.
Funnily enough, my Brother/Sister In Law have got the exact same problem starting on their MK5 GTi.
Any ideas ? Anyone had this before ?
Thanks guys
Mark

Try taking the lid off with car not running as its a pressurized system it should rise a touch mine does anyway gtd but i've not heard of any coolant losses on the mk6.......yet

You say they checked it at the service, but did they actually top it up? Was it at the max mark when you got it back?
I've had to top up my coolant once but has been ok since then. I would just monitor it weekly and if it continues to drop get it checked out.
This might be worth a read. Leaking water pump has been an issue on some mk6s.

Hi
Ive seen this on some Audi Models
Check the Auxilary Watery Pump :) it is located just below the manifold,if leaking you will see coolant marks running down onto the sump.
-Very similar to this

There are no leaks, also confirmed by the dealer

Sounds a bit odd. I've had to top mine up once, but it's remained steady since then.

It might be leaking so slowly that nothing appears on the ground. Open the bonnet and look on the plastic undertray for signs of evaporated coolant.
Mine did this and I changed the water pump myself which was a bit of a mither, but saved me £400 or so at the stealers. New VW water pump was about £160.
If you are losing water you must have a leak somewhere.

Sorry to state the obvious but i guess you had to play with cambelt whilst doing this?
