This'll be my final topic for a while (i promise.)
Since i bought my car it has had this strange whine / whistle noise when accelerating, from the front right side of the car, I have checked to see if there is a vacuum leak around the intercooler / the pipes around there, and i haven't been able to find a single thing.
The whine is only there when the turbo spools up / when i put my foot down, then as soon as i let off it disappears again.
Has anyone got any idea's as to what it is? It sounds just like a vacuum leak to me, but I can't seem to find it, so i am led to believe that there isn't one.
EDIT - You have to be moving too, you can't just put your foot on the throttle to try and replicate it.
Thanks, Mo

I've now made a video of the whine it makes (quite faint but you get the idea)

Kind of sounds like a single harmonica note when in the car.

no one got any ideas?

Mine used to do it sounded like a Hoover whistling!!!
Can't remember what is was now but I'm sure it will be a leak on the boost pipes...
Have you checked the boost pipe where it connects to the charge pipe (get under the car and it's the connection between the charge pipe and the rubber one that goes onto the intercooler) if it's the rubber o-ring and c clip type it's prob leaking from there

Sorry for the slow reply, I have been away, but, as long as the weather is nice tomorrow, i'll give this a go. Though, I did try spraying carburettor cleaner around that area, and couldn't hear any engine pitch changes, I also couldn't hear any vacuum leaks either, but it was only a quick job, so i'll give it another go tomorrow.
Cheers, Mo
