Hey guys, trying to get rid of some light scratches on my wing, I'm thinking if using some wet/dry sandpaper and then polishing... Anyone done this with good results?
-
Wet sanding is very easy to get wrong, have you got a picture of the scratches?
-
Don't have pics but they are very light scratches , the wing is one I got from a scrappy so might just give it a go. After using the wet and dry do I clean and wax or do I need to apply clear lacquer

Honestly, if you have to ask these questions then I wouldn't touch it. At least get a professional to look at it first, they might be able to remove them with a rotary polisher alone.
If you do choose to sand have a look at the various guides on detailing world and be careful. You don't need to re-lacquer, just a cut and polish with a rotary.

Yeah, I will probably give it to a pro to do but just fancied having a go

2500 grit wet and dry.
-
Try least abrasive method first, T -Cut, wash off, then polish, if that doesn't work use a rubbing compound, then T cut, then wash off, then polish.

Thanks will give it a go
