Title: Went to look at a 2.0 16v Gti today....
Post by: poosemon on 03 September 2005, 18:50
hello, am new to this forum...
As topic suggests i am looking around for a new car, currently driving a 1.9 turbo diesel 306, found a MK3 Golf 2.0 16v, completely standerd, and its black, but has done 130k! but... reciepts for almost everything done to it, (although stamps are missing in book from 102k, there are reciepts that show servicing until 130k) the dealer selling it will put 3 month warrenty on it and a fresh mot. £1950 (reckon i could get him down to 1700)

When i drove it perfomance was strong (certainly compared to the 306!! hitting 100 in 3rd was somthing new!) no rattles, bodywork is mint, electrics all work, was doing 34mpg evening knowing i was giving it a good thrashing, interior was also very clean.

am very tempted but 130k seems high, but see these for sale with 150/160k miles on them which eases worries. hardly ever see these for sale in cornwall! would you go for it....?
cheers for any replys

If you think it is the right one then get it , 130k isnt anything big ... remember, its a VW ..!!! ... my mk2 has 147k on it and things go strong...

Sounds like a good price for a good car.

130k is not high nowadays, sounds good. with the 3 mth warranty and that mpg you shouldnt have a problem.

I think that you have everything you need to know in the line above. Welcome to the site by the way.
