First off - Sorry for posting a million and one problems!
Now to the problem -
I'll unlock my car using the key fob, then sometimes as soon as i get into the car it just auto locks itself. This has started to become severely annoying, so now i have started to search for the problem. It seems to do it randomly, in the sense that i can sometimes unlock it and it wont do it, whereas i can sometimes unlock it and it'll lock before i get to the door. It also still locks even if the keys are in the ignition.
It doesn't always do it, but as i have been doing a lot of work on my car recently i would like to try and find the problem, as i like to leave the keys in the car. I have a VAG COM, so if it's something to do with the security / immobiliser, that can be altered, i can fix it through the VCDS.
Could someone please enlighten me with some idea's as to what's wrong?
Thanks, Mo

Most likely the drive door mod. Mine has a mind of its own
-
Faulty door module. It thinks the door hasnt been opened so locks itself. Puddle light off too?
-
Puddle light? And where is this door module thing / can it be replaced

Puddle light is a red/white lense in the lower corner of your door near the end of the door pocket, door module is internal behind the door card and window regulator plate/assembly,doorcard needs to come off and if careful you can get at the module with all the regulator plate undone and pulling carefully back

Great informative guides and tbh its easier to just replace the module really,i would say from your fault its almost defo your door lock module,do you get a lights on warning chime with lights on and key removed from ignition if not then this is another common door lock module fault :afro:

That's an auto lock feature of the car which can be disabled by pressing the little button down the drivers side, works for me all the time especially with kids in the car, it disables internal sensors and autolock

Had the same problem mate. All I did was press the button which is on the drivers side in the car at the bottom of the panel where you seat belt is.
-
Ah right, Thanks all, i will try the button next time i get into my car.
