Got the text this morning that says I have progressed to stage 2 of 7 (with the factory).
Given that I have been stage 2 for the last 8 weeks I logged on to the tracker as I thought it strange I had received a text.
Anyway it had changed to stage 3 Build Week Confirmed (on-line) Your order has been confirmed for production week commencing 04/05/2014.
So I'm officially week 19
Anyone else joining me?
-
Yes I got an e mail this morning as well. Car to be built week 4th may. BW 19.
Progress at last. We are on holiday in Tuscany last 2 weeks in May so it will be great to get back to the new car.
-
Haha me too!!!
Mines a 3rd R DSG.. Lapiz , winter pack, camera and DRC
-
When did you guys order? I'm hoping that mines one of the BW22 so it has a chance of the GTD markings on the headrest and the other upgrades.
-
I ordered 14th February but don't think the dealer ordered until a week later.
Where does it say the headrests will have markings?

-
I ordered March 16th. GTi 5 door pure white no extras.
-
Yeah the GTIs seem to be going through the system 4 weeks quicker than the GTDs

It says on the configurator on the vw website. I'll question it with the dealers, little bit annoying that the actual Vw website isn't correct!
-
Yeah there is a thread in here saying the brochure / configurator stated that but its incorrect. I'll see if I can dig it up.
The link I posted is from one of the forum dealers regarding mid year changes.
Edit found the link about the embossed emblem on the headrests
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=265974.0
No real conclusion to it apart from the My15 changes don't mention the other things either like bigger screen & mirrorlink. Plus someone has mentioned the embossed logo was on the description when they ordered back in 2013
-
Just spoken to the dealer, He's not sure on either the headrests or the sport and sound pack.
Said he'd expect the seats to have the GTD logo based on the description and image, and with the sport and sound pack as far as he was aware the calipers would not be red, and it was just the speaker feeding in audio from the exhasust rather than a straight through exhaust.
He's going to speak to the new car lsales manager and call me back on wednesday, so hopefully he'll be able to tell me for sure then.
-
I wouldn't trust the info they tell me at all. Much more concise info on this board
Have you looked in the TDI section for Sport & Sound pack info?
http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=259570.80
The name itself suggests its more than one thing. Pack: a collection of things. So not sure it would just be a speaker on the exhaust.
As for the GTD emblem, like its been mentioned above, the GTD emblem has been in their literature since May 2013 so I wouldn't hold my breath.
-
Yea he didn't seem like he had a Scooby tbh lol. Sod it I'm gonna add it tomorrow.
-
Hi Moots, I went for the Sport and Sound pack (arriving in next couple of weeks so can give you an update soon.) However a couple of guys had theirs arrive on here already, the first I believe was carlosmonkey - you can see his posts here where he mentions the great exhaust sound also http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=254838.msg2422358#msg2422358
As he was the first his garage actually thought it was a mistake in Germany, so the info on this pack has been far from good as you are still finding with your dealer!
I think for the money it's a nice pack, I like the calipers and the exhaust does sound good, like here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYRZPkSQJtc#t=76
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=UuhPe4OGOxA#t=53
By having a straight through rear section of exhaust you can quite easily upgrade the exhaust in the future too.
I'm interested to see how often I take the car out of sport mode for Engine...
-
Yea given what others have said i'm failry certain it will be included. Would be nice to get the dealership to commit to it before i ask for it though!
-
Greetings,
First post from a newbie.
I've got a GTi on order, had the email from VW a few weeks back confirming my build week commencing 04//05/14.
Getting very excited now. Any idea how long they take to get from Germany to the dealer?
-
If you look at the Build Week 15 thread, some of them have collected their cars already and we are only in build week 17
So with that in mind our cars should be getting picked up 4 to 5 weeks from just now
-
Excellent!
I did ask the dealer if I could collect the car from the factory, but it's only for German customers.
-
Hopefully the build week 18 cars are finished with and they can move on to the 19's
-
^^^ well mine is on its way to the port so that's one space on the production line available :D
-
Im usually quite patient but this is annoying me now!
My order is still scheduled for build on the 4/5/2014, is this normal or am I in for an extended wait?!
-
No that is normal. My BW18 changed status on the following Sunday.
-
My tracker jumped from " Build week confirmed 4/5/2014" ( a build week 19er), to "In Transit" today.
I contacted the dealer who checked his system to confirm that he had chassis numbers etc and that the car has been released from the factory to the ship.
The car is a Lapiz blue R with manual transmission.
The car it's replacing is a MK7 GTI which was build week 3 this year.
-
Thanks guys... I suppose I best sign my life away then and send them the paperwork back so the 2 week cool off can commence.

Well done you. It must be one of the first.
-
My car had an immaculate conception too. The tracker missed out 'Build in Progress' and went straight to 'In Transit'!
I can feel the excitement building............
-
Hi all
Tracker today says car has left the factory and is in transit
Just a few weeks now!
I hope you all get this news this week.
-
So jealous. I've heard nothing and presume the tracker / txt alerts only get updated once a day?
All I can hope for is, I'm last on the ship so first off it
-
All my tracking changes so far have occurred just before 9am
-
All my txt updates have been either 9:07 or 9:08 in the morning!
-
Happy days! Just had an email from VW, it's now at 5b and is being shipped.
-
Text message 5a, Its left the factory.
At least i know theres movement.
Well done HKP
-
Just had an email from VW order tracker - 5c - 10 days to go. The Frisia left Emden yesterday for Sheerness, ETA 17.00.
Not long to go now!
-
You have jumped the queue as my BW18 car is still sat waiting for a ship to Sheerness
-
Just goes to show - red cars are quicker!
-
Yes, I had the 10 days to go message this morning just before 9am.
The dealer has contacted me asking me to see him so that the paperwork can be done to transfer my number plate to the new car, which usually takes 3 or 4 days.
-
I'm a happy man - email this morning from VW; Stage 6, the car is in the UK!
The wait is almost over.
-
Same here. Car with dealer in 10 days. Bad timing as I am on holiday in Tuscany until the 31st. Never mind,a nice treat to come home to!
-
I think I'd be happy having to wait if I was in Tuscany!
-
I promised myself I wouldnt become one of "those" obsessive types...but its happening
Im still in transit! booooo
-
5b text this morning. I'm at Emden
-
Been contacted by the dealer - if everything goes to plan I should collect the car on Wednesday.
-
Most folk still waiting on a boat apart from HKPhooey?
There is a boat in Port just now with another nearly there so here's hoping.
-
Tracker message today, my car is on final stage and will be with the dealer in 7 days. Only thing is I am still in Tuscany my wait is extended a little. However I have a nice little Fiat Panda courtesy of Hertz, together about and it is a surprisingly good smooth running little car.
Good weather and food here, Ialian drivers are all in a press on mode and severe tailgating is a problem!
-
P3ASA: Most folk still waiting on a boat apart from HKPhooey?
Dealer contacted me this morning to say that he has the car and it can be collected on Thursday.
-
Mines been delivered a week today on a transporter to my office... A bit excited now.
I have requested the dealer do no prep on the paintwork and the detailer will be here when it arrives to give it a proper prep!
Decided to do this after some stories Iv read about swirl marks etc
-
Totally smitten!

Looks fantastic. I've seen a lot of red cars recently that have been detailed and they just draw attention. So I can imagine this in the flesh would be lovely.
Enjoy.
My build week 19 is still sitting at Emden
-
E mail from VW. My car has arrived at my dealer, frustrating and bad timing as I am still in Italy and not back in the UK until next Saturday.
Never mind we had a nice trip to Siena today and the little Panda took the round 120 mile trip in it's stride.
Roll on golf handover in 10 days or so
-
Look on the bright side, I'm still at Emden
Although a ship is heading from Emden to Sheerness as I type  so hopefully I'll get the text message tomorrow.
-
At last, car is at Sheerness. Dealer says it will be with them by end of the week and I can pick it up next week.
The end is nigh
-
That's excellent news! I look forward to seeing the photos.
The end of the beginning!
-
Cheers. Now the sleepless nights begin
-
Hi all
Back from Italy and collecting car tomorrow, white GTI 5 door, the wait is nearly over
Are there many other bw19 week people still not got a hand over date?
Will try to post pics if I can work out how to do it!
-
Cheers. Now the sleepless nights begin
And then the best Birthday feeling ever on the day

Hopefully, although my last 2 new cars had issues so either I'm a perfectionist or really unlucky
Anyway confirmed for Saturday, can't wait.
-
Spoke with my dealer today who said I can still have the VW service pack for £199 even although I never ordered it at the time of order. Result
They also said I will stay on the same PCP % even although that has went up. Result
The downside is, I wanted to put the car in my wifes name as she has sold her car and is taking over my A1 (I'm registered keeper) and for insurance purposes it would have been easier if she was the owner of the Golf but if I go that route I can't get the cheaper service pack or cheaper PCP %
Oh well 2 out of 3 aint bad as someone once sang
