Title: New to GTI - Clutch Issues
Post by: Marsh1 on 10 April 2014, 16:44
Hi Guys,

I'm new to GTI's, I was a VR6 man before this.

Got a bargain MK4 GTI 1.8T, but as we know bargains are usually masking issues.

I changed my water pump and cam belt straight away as they were needed.

My clutch pedal occasionally sticks and needs me to put my foot under it to pop it back up, it then works fine again for a week or so and will do it again. What are your suggestions? Slave? Master?

The clutch engages quite high up but I've been told this is pretty standard with MK4s?

Thanks,

Matt

If the pedal is staying down you have a hydraulic problem.
