Title: AGU 1.8t problems need help diagnosing

I've had this problem with my golf for a week now, it is missfiring on 1 cylinder (3) I've checked the injector, spark plugs, it is still doing it, I have been told replace the ignition amplifier on the back of my air box, so I have got one of them being delivered tomorrow, can anybody else shed any light on what this might be? I have had scan after scan on the diagnostic machine but no engine management light and no fault codes???
Car drives doesn't stall, just rough idle & has lost power due to it missfiring, Is there anything else I can check ?? If it helps when I unplug the MAF when car is running, car dies ?? Could it be a faulty MAF? I am at wits send with this :( help lol
