Title: GO PRO HELP
Post by: passant on 08 April 2014, 13:43
Does anyone know where to get a cheap go pro or know anyone who is selling one for cheap, OR can anyone recommend something similar to a go pro but without the price, going the nurburgring in 3 weeks and I need one!

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom,

If you want a GoPro then get a GoPro, in my opinion nothing comes close! There are bargains to be had on eBay for new and used items. Plenty of genuine eBay stores out there these days.

I know, I was thinking of buying one and then selling it when I got back, are they really that good that nothing comes close to them? I mean theres a camera on ebay for £50 ( which seems far too cheap ) but I'm guessing that'll just be awful footage

Also, is there a way of wiring it up so its constantly on charge and capturing footage? how does it work does it have a hard drive or is it like an SD card thing?

I guess you could sell it when you got back. You probably wouldn't loose much if you bought a second hand one either.

The footage is worth the extra ££. I would highly recommend them. You will probably find that once you buy one you won't want to sell it and you will find so many other uses for it.

It records to SD cards. You can charge whilst using them. If you buy the skeleton case you can mount it using the normal hardware and still be able to plug it in to charge.

I have used one of THESE (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009CN8VNY/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=photo) ContourRoam 2 Cameras.

Picture quality is just as good as the GoPro but less bulky and cheaper and also fully waterproof.

Works of a microSD card and battery lasts about three hours before charging.

Make sure you hide the camera at the Ring, when you are going through the barrier if your on a tourist day ?
Get through the barrier clip it on and hit record
If they see it Adolf will tell you to remove it

Im also thinking about getting one, if you get one it has to be the hero 3 no point in getting the 2...I was looking at the silver or black as the camera quality is gonna be better, but as I want to you it for other things and will prob use it a lot, I can justify the extra for the black edition

Have a look at the specs and decide which one you need/want
