I just bought my first gti, love it so far, but after a bit of searching on here it seems my n75 valve is faulty, I am getting what sounds like waste gate chatter (I had huge amounts of this on my old cossie and my old skyline) and it does sound the nutts, but from what I have read its a very different/bad thing on these, can someone tell me if all I need to do is change the n75 and it will be ok again? of is there more to the problem, the car is totally standard at the moment, I am fitting some guages and a dump valve tomorrow, but this sounds more important.
Any help would be great, as I dont really know much about these engines yet, the code is AUM if it helps
cheers

N75 issues would be loss of boost i.e limp mode, does it have an induction filter fitted and avoid dump valves u want a 007p/008p diverter valve from forge also awesome gti do them or even ebay

If you scan the car with Vagcom the N75 should throw a code if its faulty, chatter would normally be something other than the N75
-
As above the N75 controls boost levels so a faulty one would see boost spikes or odd boost delivery.
I would say its more likely the OEM recerc valve failing (Replace with a 007P/008P not a dump valve). Also check the piping to the recerc as my turbo stall was being caused by a blocked pipe preventing opperation.

The latest revision OEM DV is also worth a look. Chatter means the DV is not putting the air back into the intake so could mean a split vac pipe to it or a fault with the DV itself

doesnt feel like a boost problem, im getting a 007p tomorrow so will try that first and report back.
thanks for the quick replys
