Call into your local VW dealer and they'll be able to confirm whether you have the standard locking nuts fitted, if so they can order a replacement and my local dealer had one of each type in stock last time I asked on behalf of a friend
-
I think they are vw locking nuts but will these need a code number to get a new key?

No they'll be able to tell visually and by trying the workshop set, well that's what they did with my friends Passat when he lost his key
-
Locking nut key is usually in the polystyrene padding that hold the jack etc in the boot.

Yeah they will have, each key has a number and there aren't that many combinations, both my friend and my cousin were able to walk out of the parts department with the correct key for their locking bolts the same day

20 different key patterns. all have a code on top which vw use to re order Ive ordered using a photo of the nut head before:laugh:
Ive also had to have the nuts forced off and a new vw set from ebay for £30
No damage to alloys but they lost my caps

Well the car is going into vw to have the Dsg box serviced and hopefully they will get the wheel nuts off
if not its going back to the dealer sharpish lol

Hope you get it all sorted quicktime mate.
Which dealer did you get the motor from?
-
The car is in driftbridge Epsom and I'm dreading the phone call today

Hope the news you got, wasn't as bad as you thought it would be mate?

The Dsg box seems smoother and dosnt seem to lurch when pulling away and going into reverse but will wait and see in the next few days..
the good news is they did get the old locking nuts off and supplied new ones which im happy about but will check them again in the morning ..
