Title: Full respray costs
Post by: XMC1980 on 03 April 2014, 19:59
What would you expect to pay for a full outside respray, mine is reflex silver but after painting my valance today I wouldn't mind saving for one.

What's your opinions

Hmmmm. Guess you are correct. Will be a 'pastel' like colour opposed to a metallic touch.

I am not sure I'd ever get my re sprayed, just too much for such an old car

It's just so much dollar, you could buy another car with that cost lol

Wrap it.

A decent wrap won't cost much less than a respray

Wrapping can be done a HELL of a lot cheaper than a decent respray. My brother does vinyl wrapping. Still think it looks nowhere near as good as paint with the exception of gloss white on a van.

Perhaps go for a solid white/black?

How bad is your car now?

My car is in good nick, only a couple of light scratches, I wanted bits smoothed and arches done more than anything

I won't wrap mine that's for sure, could end up hiding a multitude of sins over time, and none are good metallic colours

Mine was £1800 and I think its worth it Thought about a wrap but im just not keen have seen a few different wraps and not for me...

What you need to decide is how long are you planning to keep the car and what your willing to put it because I tell ya once you start your wallet will get light!

I think I will save and respray it as I tend to keep it and although I would love some mods I can't do both, and I have to live within my means.... If only the car wasn't buggered when I bought it :( £1700 in the end!!! That's the respray

All passion in any car more than 10 years old will be a money pit

I was in a similar boat to niño where we knew someone who have us a massive discount. We had my sisters clio fully painted (minus the roof) and body tidied up for £600 and it was a top top job. The fella resprays all sorts of cars from feraris to mag featured GTR's. But I would expect to pay nearer £1500-£2000 usually.
