Just stripped calipers to paint and front shields are in a poor state. Are the brake disc shields stealer only. Tried ringing a few car part companies no joy. Looked on TPS list but could not find them cheers for any help

I just did mine myself, sanded primed and painted in black :)

You can get them from tps coat around £8 a side but might have to wait a few days to ship them from germany

It says TPS can not be used by Joe public.How do I go about using them do I have to register an interest or am I missing something.

I would be lost with out this site or broke. Rang TPS disc shields here tomorrow eight quid each. Got a collection number very helpful people. :smiley: :smiley:

I rang gave them gave reg number of golf let slip that I am a member of this site to which TPS sells a lot. Anything else you require can not fault. Only problem I will have is finding TPS google maps looks good. Been driving 30 years never even knew they exsited. Like the saying goes learn summit new each day.

How far do you have to strip the callipper/hub down to to replace these sheilds? I may do mine...Looking pretty tired!

No need to touch hub . Slackened calliper mounting off zipped tied to spring remove disc hey presto 3 of 8mm head bolts holding back plate on.

Simple as that, goodo. Never paid enough attention to when having the wheels off previously. That is a job to do soon.

I've learnt the hard way too many times now :grin:
A whole can of WD on each and every bolt before I even touch it with a socket!
