Post by: XMC1980 on 31 March 2014, 18:34
well.........

finally the car is back on the road! covered first 20 miles just now!

had a few issues on first crank maybe because im a crank  basically was cranking for a while but no fire, so looked in the cockpit and no fuel? it had at least £30 in it??? turns out i swapped the fuel for the water pipe feed and emptied the tank in the radiator haha!!!
then there was a exhaust leak which was the egr gasket.. i put it in wrong!! i must concentrate more!!
but after 50 drains of water and setting the thermostat and fan its all done!

i must make a build thread but i was so busy hands on.... ill make one and post pics as soon as i do the delete n279

devastated my mk4 ended up costing me nearly 4k but at least she is a peach now :)

autodata was a lifesaver :) and the help of my friend carlos and his workshop.... thank you

Congrats mate. Take it easy with the revs. And you might have to do an oil change after 1k miles i think
