I'm getting a bit miffed off with VW. I placed my order with them on 5th Feb, which was confirmed by the dealer. I was originally given an estimated BW16, it has since gone up to BW18 and has now been pushed back further to BW20. This is still only estimated so I'm concerned that it's going to get pushed back further still! It's kinda stuffed things up in a way with my current motor; if it was going to be built on BW16 everything would work out fine. I know others on here placed their order for a GTD much later in Feb and they have had a confirmed BW16/17.
Is it me being unreasonable or have I a right to be annoyed? I accept that there is a wait but I just feel I'm being taken as a mug by my VW dealer.
If it gets pushed back further again then I'm going to be very tempted to cancel the order and get the new shape C Class instead!... Not because I've gone off the GTD, but because of the VW dealer.

Not had any issues myself but if it's really going to mess you around (and you can get your deposit back) is it worth seeing what is in VW group stock?

I wonder if the dealer had allocation when you placed the order. ?
Iv got GTI coming soon but my dealer told me The GTD are starting to free up a bit...
do you have a tracking number for the online tracker. ?? See what that says

From my experience last year a lot of us have been severely mucked around by VW with Build and Delivery dates. The dealer told me it would be a 3 month turnaround and it ended up eventually being around 6 months. The GTI PP I had on order was well worth the wait once I got it but during the time of waiting with no accurate info or dates was absolute agony. I had many date delays along the way and the dealer do not seem to know what the factory or VW UK are doing half the time. I was on the phone frequently and don't even get me started on the VW Tracker online, like watching paint dry comes to mind.
But in the end it was all worth the wait. To be fair to the dealer they did all they could when I prompted them. The crux of my situation last year was the info being leaked was inaccurate or extremely vague half the time.
To illustrate what I mean check out some of the earlier posts from last year. One of the threads is over 200 pages long of people venting their frustration (including myself) as they wait indefinitely for their cars to be built and delivered.
Just hang in there it is worth the wait. Try and use it to your advantage and get something extra out of it. I did as they doubled my waiting time. I was supposed to get my car in July and ended up being mid October. I ordered end of March.

Things have defently change for the better with the GTI any way. My GTI PP was ordered mid jan and bw 10. Now in Uk on way to dealer. I got regular updates and have no complaints really.

One of the rumored problems last year was down to certain components going low on stock at the factory, such as the Rear View Camera. I was also told after speccing the car, the spec of the car you configured will affect the delivery date. I was more than frustrated seeing people order cars a lot later than I did and receive delivery a lot earlier as well. On average, their turnaround was a month or two quicker than mine.

I placed my order on 7th Feb and have been quoted an estimated BW19. I asked the dealer to check this week as there seems to be a few getting them quicker but was told there is no change :cry:.

I feel it also maybe a bit of postcode lottery going on with Dealers. I was led to believe the dealers all get a certain quota of cars every so many months. I may be wrong and some others on this forum will know more about it than I will, but I think it is so many cars of any model every 3 months if I remember right. So if you miss the first 3 month quota then you are instantly waiting for the next 3 month quota before you see your car. But as I said don't quote me on it, i may be completely wrong. Jimble or some of the other guys on this forum will know more about this stuff than i do.

I would have thought the initial rush / delays with parts shortages etc would have been over by now as it's almost a year after the order books opened. GTI's seems to be coming through faster than GTD's. I had a 6 month wait from order to delivery myself as well (after been told to expect 3 months). The wait was agonising and the constant changes in estimated BW did not help. Once the car actually arrives though... all is forgotten...

Completely agree, all the anguish and agony of waiting just slips away when the car arrives.

Company cars should be quicker...I placed my CC GTD order at the end of dec and it arrived at the dealer last week of feb. Has been there waiting until 9 April when current CC term expires.

Join the club unfortunately!!! But bear with it because its we'll worth the days when you want to throttle the vw salesman. 8months 10000miles yet everyday feels like the day I got it :smiley: :laugh: :whistle:

Well, the tracker is still showing as the second stage "order with the factory". It's not as if I had any of the big options off the list... Keyless, climate screen and ATP; nothing that should be too difficult!

I feel your pain.. just hang in there buddy. its worth the wait. these forums keep you going, trust me.
the date maybe getting postponed, but just think it will come earlier.
the dealers probably aren't to blame as long as they put the order through, and you have your tracking number.
Working in retail, I can relate to them a little bit I guess.
slowly but surely it will come. and if you go for the c-class, will it compare to thrill from the VW GTD?

I ordered mine last May. After the delivery date slipped 3 month I cancelled and bought a 2nd hand mk6. Very happy I did now. Was so reluctant to give VW my money after they pissed me off so much.
