After 6 months my car has now decided it no longer likes training the tailgate probably it now prefers to run into the boot along the inner plastic boot trim and drip all over the parcel shelf wtf?
-
do you mean you've got a leak? Where exactly is the water coming in?
-
No leak, its screen wash instead of running thru the channel under the windscreen and down the inner right side of the tailgate as normal its just decided to run in the channel and into the boot
-
I'm not sure that I understand what you mean.

Ok on my car or at least i've noticed when its rained and you open the boot the rain runs from underneath. the the rear windscreen bottom channel down the inside metal frame of the tailgate and onto the the recess under the spoiler then it runs down the inner pillars onto the florr, but now its taking the path of least resistance and just coming arond the edge into the boot :-(
-
Still not clear. So when you squirt the screen wash to clean the rear screen this is how it's draining away?
-
Only when i open the tailgate other when its closed it runs off as you would expect
-
I get you now. Weird. Have you had a good look around the tailgate, noticed anything different, any dents, surface debris etc, that might cause the water to channel away differently?
-
The bk is pretty dirty and the weather not great so not had a chance to look its clearing up now so have a gander in a bit its defo screenwash as it green lol poor design tho really
-
My money's on it being the dirt, redirecting the flow. Get it cleaned

Aha, mystery solved. Replacement hose then. At least you should have a nice clean parcel shelf with all that soapy water lol.
Nice bit of improvisation with your (presumably expired) credit card.
-
No its in date i had nothing else thats commitment! Lol only joking it was an expired visa gift card i drilled a hole in it to try and use existing clip but its dead awkward it will suffice for now :-)
-
That pipe looks quite rigid for it to be passing through the flexi pipe.
-
Thats factory mate, just trying to think how to repair it as i want to run a full new rubber pipe from the front but there is no access to washer jet and they have vw clip ends :-/
