Title: New GTI owner. Need some advice
Post by: Rg_ on 25 March 2014, 13:54
Hi guys, bought a 1.8T the other day.

It had just passed an M.O.T with no advisories.

Unfortunately it had no documented service history. But it had just had a new clutch and the brakes are all good.

Since getting it home I have changed the pollen filter as I had a spare and changed the oil and filter.

Not knowing what's been done anything to prioritise getting done for peace of mind.

Want to get it all mechanically sound and then I know what's been done etc and can build up my own history etc.

Thanks

I would get the cambelt and water pump replaced as the next step.

Also depends on mileage but worth replacing the oil pump pick up pipe as they tend to block up.
