Hello!
I made the downpayment for a '60 MK6 GTI (DSG, Sat Nav, Leather, Tornado Red) on Saturday which I will be collecting this weekend. Coming from a 1.6 petrol C30, so quite the upgrade and needless to say I'm very excited! This has been the longest Monday morning in memory, so doesn't bode well for the rest of the week. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait

Welcome
Be sure to post some pics in the mk6 section when you get it.

Thanks, I certainly will

Nice, I just got my 11 GTi DSG in Red with Sat Nav and leather a couple of weeks back and can't see the excitement wearing off ever! Enjoy it when you get it and be sure to get those pics up :)

Tomorrow is D-Day
I can't remember the last time I felt this giddy. Longest week of my life.
Just spent close to £100 on detailing products in preparation.

What products did you get?

Lucky you !!! I have to wait til August to start looking for a Mk 6
Although I can only hope the Mk6 is every bit as good as my current mk5

Just posted a reply to you in the detailing section :)
Hope all went well today and you're enjoying the new car (pics when you get a chance ). A mate of mine has a diesel C30 and they're a nice car for sure, but not a patch on our GTIs

I've just seen. Thanks for the tips. Yes they are the 18" monzas so will look to invest in some decent protection for the wheels.
I got the car today and I'm still buzzing! Absolutely over the moon with it, particularly as it's such a step up. Can't wait yo get out again tomorrow.
Hoping to get a few pics tomorrow so I'll post them here when I do.
-
Look forward to them

I was hoping to get some decent shots taken but haven't had chance yet (too busy having fun driving the thing) so just took those on my phone. Will post up more of the car when it's had a good clean as it's currently covered in dust (thanks Sahara Desert).

Remember seeing this for sale. Didn't think it would be long before someone snapped it up. Glad it's gone to someone who will appreciate it. Looks absolutely stunning mate.
Yeah my car is absolutely covered in Africa at the min too!

Looks gorgeous  Bet you can't wait to get started with your new detailing stuff, once it's stopped raining sand.

@ seabrook
Thank you. It is in immaculate condition (bar some very minor, light scratches to the leather next to the window on the door). It had obviously been very well cared for by its previous owner and I fully intend to keep it that way.
@Booth
Thanks! Really excited to get it all cleaned up. Still waiting on a few cleaning bits and bobs to come but will at least give the interior a good going over this weekend.

Hello everyone, I'm new here, my name is Jamie and I'm 23 years old and i live in the Suffolk Area.
I've just purchased a Mk6 GTi 5 door, manual in white with the Jacara Cloth interior. Awaiting delivery approximately this friday (4th April 2014). It's a 61 plate, registered in October with 15,000 miles on the clock. I brought it from the official Volkswagen UK site. Will post some pictures in a minute (in the mk6 section) that the dealer has sent me and will create a build thread for future mods, got a few things planned so far allready.
I'm so excited to own part of the GTi family and look forward to hearing everyone's story's and hopefully making some new friends on here and from going to various car shows.
