Title: AGU couldn't be mapped?
Post by: leigh_harty on 21 March 2014, 18:08
http://www.dynodrive.co.uk/

Went to these guys last Monday as they're close by, my a3 AGU couldn't be remapped because it hasn't got a Bosch ecu? Anybody ever had this problem before or will it be just a case of this company hasn't got the tools etc to remap what ever ecu I have?

Doesnt have a bosch ECU.....fairly sure ALL mk4s came with a bosch ECU.

They probably dont know what they are doing.  Get along to somewhere such as R-tech and they will give you a top quality map.

Chip has to come out of ecu and load map to it then resoldered in, think that what r-tech done to mine years ago. dynodrive are expensive i map bmw and mini and there maps are £100 more than ours and less hp and tq. R-tech will come up to you and do car done mine in warrington at my work.

Never heard of chip coming out on the AGU.  What ecu number is this on?

Probably easier to just buy a 018 CG ecu and put that in.  Easy to code to immo with vcds too

I had a day off and thought I'd get my car mapped.. instead spent the money saved on brakes and green stuff items

If I got rtech to remap my car I'd rather do things propers and get rid of the dinky ko3.

Cars a 97 r reg if that makes a spot of difference

R is a fairly early one, any idea on a part number? As Chris said if you have the 018 CG ECU it can be mapped via the ODB port like many of us have had done
