what minor improvements are avalible? yes i know a remap would be lovely but thats not quite what i mean.
theres revised parts which are better apparently. and what bits should be looked at?, the car has full service history, so stuff like cambelt and water pump are done, and the recall coilpacks are sorted. the cars done 81,000 miles, i need a dsg service, so i thought id get these other bits done at the same time.
my turbo is also whistling alot more than usual (mainly in 4th when i put my foot down)and theres deffinatly a loss of power, doesnt wheelspin in usual places lol. im sure theres something to do with that which is one of these revised parts.
im going to take it to a specialist, and i know they can advise me best cuz they can actually get there hands on the car, but any advice would be wonderful.
thanks in advanced

It sounds like your diverter valve is leaking , go for version g type or a dv+ from go fast bits

a Go Faster Bits DV+ valve is far better than any VW revised part, and costs only a bit more. There was a revision on the PCV (pressure control valve) too, so may be worth investigating that. Easy to check, have the engine idle and warm, then remove the oil filler cap for a second. If the engine goes to stall, you're all good. If it doesn't try to stall, PCV is gone.
If you have no mods at all, an off the shelf remap would be really good, you should seriously consider it. Better fuel economy, better driving experience and generally better in every way. It's power that's there for the taking, so why not take it?
