Title: Airbox Mod 2.0 16v
Post by: G5MYT on 19 March 2014, 19:31
Hi
I started the air box mod today and wondered what to do with the valve and hot air pipe that comes from the rear of the engine? I followed these 2 guides but there is no mention of the item.

Also anybody recommend a good place to get the metal bell mouth trumpet that is on the second link?
Cheers

Basically bin everything thats in the bottom of the airbox, cut away what cant be pulled out and blank any holes left over. Bung the vacuum oulets on the throttle body and skip any hot air related rubbish.

Blank  off the hole in the airbox.

The pipe just comes from the exhaust manifold and draws air from around the manifold so you dont need to do anything there.

You should be able to pick up a suitable sized velocity stack from ebay, try searching for a carb bellmouth,
