Grrrr iam having real probs finding somewhere that will fit my lowering springs for under £100!! is this right??
My boyfriends "mate" garage want £120!!! WTF i was even thinking about kwik-fit even tho i hate that place with a passion, but i dont think they do susspension do they?? :undecided:

Get some spring compressers and get your Boyf to do it! It's tricky and will take the best part of a day but a few cups of tea and some grateful nookie will be cheaper than a garage!

He hates my car and wont touch it anymore  and besides he knows as much as me when it comes to things like this lol

Don't forget that you'll need to get the steering geometry checked/adjusted after they are fitted it or was that included in the quote .If it is then the quotes not bad IMO :undecided:
-
yes they did say that, but i didnt know what they meant  oh bugger

About the cheapest you will find to get em fitted is £20 a corner, add a geometry setup to that at about £20-£25 and theres your £100.
IMO you wont get em fitted and set up for less than that
-
well i dont mind £100, but i didnt wanna go above that really.

I did mine myself one afternoon(with a little help from my little bro').Took me 4 1/2 hours,it's really quite easy, just read the section in the haynes manual a few times!
I havn't had the steering geometry checked yet though, but it feels ok!

So take off the price of a couple of tyres then as you'll need two front ones in a couple of months time.
I got charged £80 to lower mine but then it cost me two new front tyres because I didn't get the tracking and camber checked straight away, then had the cost of tracking and camber after the new tryes were put on, so it ended up costing me a lot more than £120. Ask exactly what the garage are doing for your £120 and if they are doing more than just fitting the springs then the price looks pretty good to me.

I do intend getting to steering geometry checked, just bit busy at work at the moment. Is it likely to be out by much? and how costly?
-
hard to tell how much it will be out by, will cost you about £20 to get it set up

I got mine done at a local audi specialist for £150 ish, including tracking / geometry.
