My GTI is now showing as in transit..is there away of knowing what ship its on and when it arrives?

Your dealer will have all that info otherwise it is just guessing. See the Build Week 3 thread for my notes on which ships VW uses and how to track them.

Took about 2 weeks after going to 'in transit' for my estate to arrive.

Well thats good news..
I also have a vw passat Alltrack 177dsg which has now arrived and at port. Tracker says 7 days to get to dealer..
