Title: Tick over drops

Why does my golfs tick over drop to approx 600 when I back off throttle then raise its self to 900 I have read MAF or temp sender no warning lights no juddering any help please please.

Have you scanned for fault codes?

I thought it would throw engine warning if a fault happened

Not necessarily. Get it scanned and more likely than not you'll find something :)

Nope, a lot of faults don't throw up the CEL. Earlier models don't even have a CEL.

Mine did that with boost leak. Could hear noise from front.

I am going to make a mist near all pipe connections first normal make a mist with WMD 40

I noticed mine doing this when i first got it so i removed the throttle body (was filthy  :sick:) gave it a real good clean out with carb cleaner,replaced it and set the throttle position and sorted it now idles smoother and the no more revs dropping  :wink:

I also have a slightly lumpy idle and a bit of a shudder when pulling away, I'm pretty sure it's a dirty TB or a vac leak I just haven't had any time to look for it yet :grin:

I'm waiting for the weather to warm up, I don't do anything on the car if it's cold or raining...which is most of the year :grin:
