HI everyone
I've been signed up for a few months now, but am only just getting around to introducing myself. I'm 47 and live in Egham Surrey. Apart from getting useful info for my car plans (see below) I'd like to see what's going on socially in Surrey and London. I'm also into music; gigs, festivals and I play a bit of bass guitar, as well as photography. I work as a project manager, currently at Heathrow Airport but am also a qualified hypnotherapist.
I've previously owned 2 Mk2 8v GTis (nearly bought a g60) and my other car is an 58 Audi A4 estate. I have several dream cars, depends on the mood. I'm really taken with the idea of a E34 M5 3.6 as an affordable classic, or an RS6 if I want something a bit more sensible
I bought a Mk4 Dragon Green Cabrio 2.0 auto a year ago. It's just passed it's MOT needing only a brake light and a pair of tyres - much to my surprise, I was expecting more! Although I do need to sort the rattling heat shield on the exhaust - it's driving the wife mad. Pic to follow shortly...
I plan to keep it for a while as I recently bought an ABF engine c/w manual gearbox so am looking to swap it over. Doing an engine swap is always something I wanted to do, and this one seems about as straightforward as they get - but I don't expect it to be easy. I also want to convert to 5 stud hubs with bigger discs as well - already have a front subframe assembly that I've started to rebuild with new bushes and so on. Am interested in what mods I can do for the ABF while it's still out of the car, as I love any excuse to get the power tools out and am a bit of a geek when it comes to fiddling with tech and engineering.
So if you are local-ish in Surrey give me a shout.
Cheers
Steve

Hey Steve,
Welcome firstly. I've only joined this site recently too.
If you need any help with your mods, the guys on here are really helpful.
I'm also in Surrey, not far from yourself. Just off the crooked billet in staines. Also work at Heathrow.
Good luck with your future mods. The motor sounds good already. Post a couple of pics up soon!
