Title: Adding an option to an order
Post by: Pete the feet on 14 March 2014, 21:40
Looking for some opinions, on my first post...

I ordered my GTi on 27th Feb and have just realised I didn't spec rear airbags, I've emailed the dealer and asked if it is still possible to add to the order and if so would that affect the lead time.
The dealer has come back and said he will only know if he actually adds to the order, has anybody here added items to the spec once the order was placed? It's an option I really would like, wish I'd seen it when speccing originally.
Thanks for any opinions or similar experiences.

Depends how far it has got on the Tracker. Your dealer should have given you a tracking number which you can then check progress on Volkswagen's website. If it is at Stage 2 I.E still with the factory you should be ok.

Yes got the order tracker, it's still with the factory so I think I'll gamble and add it, fingers crossed it won't add too much time to the big day!

I doubt it will. I ordered mine Nov 16th and was quoted 21 weeks it was built and in the country about 12 weeks later.
Today's the day for me  I am picking mine up this morning

You will be fine - its a GTI and they seem to build these very quickly at the moment...

The tracker is a week behind the true stage of the vehicle.

My dealer tried to modify an order for me and he was told he couldn't as it was BW confirmed, so if I wanted it it would delay the order. That was about 3 weeks ago and
