Title: Spark plug dripping in oil
Post by: joshstanvw on 14 March 2014, 19:27
Hi all I decided to change the plugs today cylinder 1 and 2 were a bit sooty nothing awful but when I pulled number 3 the threads and electrodes were literally dripping with oil I am lead to believe this could only be
A. Valve stem seals
B. Piston rings
Anyone else got any ideas?

I had same problem. When i took the rocker cover off, there was 2 gaskets. 1 main gasket around the rocker and 1 for the spark plugs. Just get both shouldnt be more than £20

Is the oil on the spark side or the plug side.
Spark side- valve stem seals are worn
Plug side- rocker cover gasket is gone
