Title: Starting problems
Post by: Davroos88 on 14 March 2014, 14:27
Hi,

This is on behalf of a friend, he has a seat ibiza 1.4 08 plate, it has been stood for over a year, he has decided to try and start it today but not much luck. He connected the jump leads up turned the key and it was was turning over but then slowly started fading out to nothing, the leads are still connected but the has no ignition light and no millage display. Anyone know what this could be or any ideas please??

Thanks David

The battery is completely dead, charge it or leave the jump leads on for a good 10mins to get enough power in the battery before trying to start

 This is a bad idea. Always charge them in a well ventilated area.
