Hi all :-)
Could someone help me with my decision and point me in the rite direction? I read a post on Audi sport.net done by 16klappe and it was brilliant! Highly recommend to anyone thinking bout tuning there20v gti, but I still have 1 question, he explained very well about the k03s and it tuning capability and briefly spoke bout the k04-001 saying it was basically the same as k03s? But after looking at prices u can get a k04-001 for half the price would this not be worth getting or am I missing something? I currently have the k03 with a remap running bout 190bhp and been told I can't get no more power from it unles I upgrade the snail I have :-/
Cheers

With the k04 you need to change a few things. Such as the tip down pipe, oil pipe and probly the manifold aswell but not sure. Who mapped the car for you? 190 is the max from a k03 aint it?
How much do you have to spend on a new turbo?
-
I thought the k04-001 was a direct replacement for k03, between around the 300 mark cud stretch a bit if worth it? Car was done by amd in Essex
-
001 is a direct replacement.
-
If you can find a genuine one for less than the price of a K03s please let me know
-
Ok cheers for that Dave, put mind at ease, only seen em on eBay for less than 300 notes

cant see that being a genuine 1  unless its second hand
-
as said 001 is direct replacement, however iirc can only push around 15-20 bhp more over the k03s? so if you find one cheepish and in good nick, may aswell go for that, if not then stick with a k03s which is easily found IMO.

Learnt suma new then. Which car is it from then?

i'm breaking my golf soon...
ran k04-001. had it fitted/mapped in Oct 2013 by r tech.
barely any miles done on it.
oh and I paid this..
1 x 5304-950-0001 New Genuine KKK Upgrade Turbo for VAG 1.8T 220bhp
(5304-950-0001) = £642.65
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: £642.65
Shipping: £0.00
VAT + Export: £128.53
Total: £771.18.
i'm sure i can let it go cheap if i can find time to break it

How cheap is cheap lol
-
I have no idea what it's worth. certainly nowhere near what I paid for it.
but i rather let something go cheap and quick, rather than wait for a buyer who is willing to pay more
