Sooooooo,
I'm starting to get so impatient that my missus reckons I'm either a saddo or mentally challenged.
My order is 'still with the factory' on the VW Tracker, how long does one have to wait to for it to change to the blummin' 'confirmed build week' step.
Pleeeeaaaase don't say something like the week before, I think i'd possibly go mad
-
I'm in the same situation.
Ordered early January and still with the factory. I called my dealer, who came back with a "probable" build week 14, so it may be worth calling your to see if they have a better idea ?

I know the feeling, I must check the tracker 10 times a day!
The tracker should change to build week confirmed around 4 weeks before your actual build date, which for me meant waiting around 12 weeks before the tracker changed to build week confirmed
-
I was exactly the same and totally obsessed with the tracker. All I can say is the wait is soooooooo worth it
-
The dealer in the UK is only guessing until the factory in Germany gives a confirmed build week.
-
It took a few weeks for mine to swap over from 'with the factory' to 'build week confirmed' which I'm now watching with great anticipation. I had a hairy moment when the dealer had incorrectly ordered a manual instead of DSG but I spotted it the second I tracked my original order number.
In terms of timing, I ordered on 23rd Jan and got confirmed for build week 12 on 21st Feb.
-
My dealer gave me a provisional BW before it got confirmed on the tracker and it turned out to be correct when it eventually showed on the tracker itself.
-
 Had the best call for ages. Dealer just called to say GTI will be ready to pick up this Friday....9:30am

YOu are no saddo!!!! I was exactly the same as you, and going MENTAL waiting for it to change. Hopefully your dealer will contact you with an unconfirmed build week soon. Then it should tick over to BW confirmed soon.
Hang on in thereā¦. IT is VERY MUCH WORTH IT!

Haha, thanks guys! very reassuring! I knew I wasn't a saddo or a mental case, pah what does the wife know
I've had an estimated BW as week 16 by my dealer. Just not sure how accurate this is or whether he's just talking BS.
I'm sure VW are thinking 'WTF - why iz das crazy English guy trying to check das car 10 times eind hour'

Keep Checking, it will fill the time until it arrives
My dealer was spot on with its BW8 estimation! It would be nice to be given a confirmed BW when you order your car
-
It would but it would be impossible as the factory can only plan firm production about a month ahead due to the vagaries of orders and component availibility.

No need to keep checking if you sign up to be notified by email when the status changes is there? Or is that totally unreliable?
Of course there is the saying that "a watched kettle never boils"!!!!

The emails work fine for the status updates, I just like to check it manually if I have a minute!

Actually they'll think: why the freck is that bloke checking 10 times a day....
the online tracker is a UK only thing ;) does not exist in germany... gets populated in the uk I think with data from germany

Same. I've made the tracker my home page so I get to see it several times a day. As well as my home page on my phone :nerd:
I was told the dealer has a provisional build date on their system which can change but is generally correct.
