The wheels on my wifes MK4 2.0 GTI are in ok condition but there are signs of corrosion with the paint lifting off in some areas. I've been quoted £60 per wheel (not sure if that was inclusive of VAT or not) to have them bead blasted & then repainted.
So the question is would it be more economical to buy an aftermarket set, or a decent set of 2nd hand ones and flog the ones currently on the car. I only paid £1050 for the car but it's in good condition body work wise, with just the wheels letting down the overall appearance.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you have,
Steve.

if they are decent wheels then i would get them powdercoated

Or spray them up yourself mate.. i did that with my santa monica rims.. cost me 50 quid in total...does take lot of time tho

Thanks Barry, I've a few local powder coaters to me, so will visit one next week. I would have given the job a go myself, but the wife needs the car daily, so couldn't have it off the road for the time it would need for a DIY job.
