Post by: theclash on 28 February 2014, 23:05
Took the circlip off the Gearbox drive flange and the washer behind fell off ...which way round should the washer go is it raised side to the driveshaft end or gearbox end
Can't get the bloody flange off though

the raised side faces out to the driveshaft. try tapping the back of the flange to free it of. they usually pop free after a couple of knocks.

Quick update, if you are going to do this job you will defo need some kind of tool. I couldn't get the flange of wouldn't budge so ended up making a tool to do the job , and compressing it back on was a big effort so with out this tool I would never of got it back on. Absolute sh@@ job to do but we love our old cars so we do it
