Title: What differs between the US and UK version internals of the MK6 and MK7?

Is there a strength issue as there was with the FSI...or is there no difference in the TSI EA888? Then, why the power difference...if known?

Is power diff solely octane based?

As far as I know yes just map different. The ea888 engine came out first in the usa it was in the last mk5s there.
They suffer exacrly the same issues with the ea888 europe does just they shout about it more.
