Title: Cornering Lights Died - Help!

Hello everyone!

Have a MK7 GTI here, with the cornering lights headlamps (not sure what they are called in the UK?)

So, after enabling the Rain Closing with VCP the cornering lights does not work anymore! They don't come up when I turn or put the car in Reverse anymore!

I tried the solution the member cebbes30 posted here:

But that made my fog lights light up instead of the cornering lights on the headlamps!

Just before you blame your coding, are you in eco mode? They don't work at all when in eco.

there supposed to come on in reverse? really? i thought that just the the non gti fogs?

Ha! You are absolutelly correct! I was in Eco mode indeed, now in Normal mode its working perfectly! Sheesh, sorry for the trouble, I feel like an idiot  :laugh:

Have also noticed this "feature" from very early in my GTD ownership. Can't for the life of me think what turning off the static cornering lights has to do with Economy ? Surely they can't sap that much juice for the few seconds at a time they are on ?

I also notice that the dynamic cornering (from the Xenon headlight unit for dipped beam) is also disabled when in Eco mode - WTF ?

What on earth were VW thinking ? Come to think of it, why on the DSG models, is coasting only available in Eco mode and not the individual mode ?

maybe they just thought people would use eco mode for motorway runs..they are not known for their multitude of corners

Probably just more like a gimmick, to give the the driver the impression of eco'ness but in fact will be unresgistable on mpg

Im pretty sure that somehow we can change those behavior using Rosstech/VCP. I'ts a matter of finding where and how!

If only I spoke German fluently.... LOL
