Title: how do you hang your engine?
Post by: whileoceanasleeps on 25 February 2014, 20:57
I'm going to make the three engine mounts needed to drop a 20v in my mk2 rocco.. which brings the question- how do I position the engine? I'm going to hang it in the bay while I fab up the mounts but what do I need to take in to consideration? I'm going to..

- connect up the driveshafts
- ensure the engine is level and won't foul the bonnet

asides from this is there anything else I need to worry about? I'm making up the down pipe later so exhaust won't be an issue. any help appreciated.

You need a good quality and tested lifting strap or chain and d shackles then hang it from an engine crane.
