Am I missing something, say I am on Nav screen and the phone rings, I press green button on the screen, have a chat, but then there is no option to end the call without the other person hanging up. I could change screens back to the phone one but surely there is an easier way?
-
I think the phone button on the steering wheel will do it?
-
Doesn't your MFD show the call in progress? Mine does, and a press of the OK button on the steering wheel ends the call.
-
There is a red picture of a phone on the composition media system in my courtesy golf, pretty sure it was the same on the nav pro in the GTI i had.
-
I have Discovery nav and the phone symbol disappears when the call is answered. And the button on the steering wheel only seems to end the car if I made the call not if someone calls me.
Anyone else with the same nav as me able to check theirs?
-
You need to change the MFD to phone (hit right three times) then hit the ok button on steering wheel to end call. The sytem could be better (eg taking the MFD screen to the phone automatically when it's in use)
-
Or just keep the phone symbols on the nav screen while the call is in progress, that's pretty standard on any other car I had.
-
An incoming call automatically appears on my MFD.
-
So its appears for some the MFD goes to Phone mode when a call is received and others need to manually go to the screen - sounds a bit odd to me.
-
That's weird - pretty sure there are no boxes you need to tick in Settings.
Edit: I have Composition Media unit.

So today I noticed - when you get an incoming call - the MFD and the CMS both display the incoming call detail. If you answer on the CMS the MFD goes back to driving data and the only way to end the call is to end call on the CMS which may no longer be there if you have sat nav. You can press phone at the side of the CMS or cycle the MFD to the call display and end using the button on the steering wheel. If you answer the call using the steering wheel/MFD then your CMS stays as is and you can end the call using the steering wheel. This seems to be the best way.

No matter how I answer a call, pressing the phone on the steering wheel takes me immediately to the phone menu in the MFD, from there I can end the call by pressing the phone button again or the ok button. Easy enough for me, in fact I think that's easier than pressing a touch screen icon
-
I would have expected pressing the phone button would or should have ended the call. So is that buttons function only to answer a call?
-
I think it takes you to the call menu so you can mute or hold the call if you want without needing to take your hands off the wheel.

that is exactly how it works...
quite good it doesn't hang up on the phone button on the steering wheel. you have more options from mfd - nice to mute on a conference call while you're eating your breakfast

Press the phone button the steering wheel twice hangs up.
Once to get it to the correct menu and once to hang up.
