Golf GTI Performance Pack, 5 door manual, in red.
It'll be interesting to see how they get on with it over the next few months :D

Yes I read that last night! I'd been looking forward to it coming! Will be interesting as the custodian, Mike Duff, has just come from 6 months in a new RS6!

I may seem a bit slow to him following the RS! Also, average 31mpg for the first report. I wonder what that will be by the end of the test?

I'll be very interested to see what they think when it has a few more miles on it .... probably "competent" but no Megane on the road and "frustrating" on track ....

I always tend to think EVO are a little more balanced than other reviews I've seen and they've been big fans of the Golf GTI in all the reviews I've read so far.

They do acknowledge if you want a sharp track tool, then the Megane RS is the car to plump for, but they also state that as an everyday proposition, the GTI is a stonker.

I look forward to their views over the coming months!

It'll be interesting to see what they think when they get an R to test alongside it bearing in mind how close they are in price for the extra traction and 70PS...
