my old n/a used to get 28-32 If I was ragging it.

32-40 on normal driving (lower end of that if town driving higher end if motorway/dual carriage way.

40-45 if driving like miss daisy.

once got 48mpg :afro:

get it scanned. check when its last service was.

I would say that is bad, as I can get 40mpg out of mine, if driving sensibly and it is a stage 2 remapped 1.8 turbo

I would look for a member local to you on here as the best bet who will scan your car for a few beer tokens don't go to a dealer as there charges for a scan are over the top!

or just by a cheep scanner yourself because you will more than likely need it LOTS of times in the future!   http://www.amazon.co.uk/U281-OBD-2-CAN-BUS-SCANNER-SKODA/dp/B001C9V89A/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1393355038&sr=8-7&keywords=vag+com

Alternately get a cheapish vag=com lead and download a copy of vcds from the ross tech website the lite version will allow you to at least scan your car for any codes.

My sister's 2.0 GTI says 29mpg on the number 2 MFA reading... I don't know how you petrol lot afford to run cars that are this bad on fuel haha. I'm disappointed if my 150PD doesn't get 50mpg over the tank (600 miles)

mine has 130k, ive just checked the mfa2 or whatever it is and its saying 29mpg so not to bad but could be better, ive plugged my code reader in and theres nothing really thatd do the economy, its reading a code 00245 which i think is the abs sensor which would make sense as my abs light keeps coming on, but engine wise nothing, i found a crack in the airbox top which ive replaced with a new unit, and ive taken the ecotek valve thing out so hopefully itll help plus i think i can hear a small exhaust blow so im gonna check that out when i get chance

well ive just been out to matlock for the day with the fam, a round trip of 45 miles so i zeroed the mfa1 and ive just checked its saying ave 42.5mpg now im very happy as i wasnt driving any different to my normal have a little play when i can on the b roads all legal of course, all ive done is replace a split air box cover and remove an ecotek valve, ive plugged in the wurlygig and its only coming up with an abs code which i sort of knew about as the abs light is on, ive also had a little listen from cold and i may have a bit of a blow on the exhaust so ill check that next year when we have the nice day

It was probably that Ecotek valve, why people bother with them at all is beyond me
