Title: Stone chips!!!
Post by: MarcIV on 23 February 2014, 23:10
Okay I've love my golf sooo freaking much that it hurts me seeing all these stone chips on the front of my car, I know exactly where these are coming from and that's outside the local quarry on the main road.

Now how am I supposed to cover these up without over time having loads of touch ups!

There mainly on my bonnet which makes me think bonnet bra? But I don't like bonnet bras. Even the genuine leather expensive ones.
Is it easy enough to get a matching touch up paint pen from halfords? And attempt a D.I.Y ? I'm fairly artistic and have a steady hand, I just don't wanna balls up my car.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Toothpick and touch-up paint. Avoid the bras as they will over time scratch the bonnet.

I cleaned my bonnet with strong fairy liquid and then thinners and wiped thick paint over the bonnet again and again until the stone chips were level, blocked the whole bonnet down with 1500 which took ages then polished it up.

Looks good now, can barely see them.
