Only two would consider would be Sachs or Luk. When I had my lightened flywheel done I had a Sachs clutch fitted

IIRC carparts4less was considerably cheaper than that when i last checked.

Seems they are out of stock i was on a budget that day i came up. As i am moving away i wont have any use of ramps any more so all the harder work is being done next month.

Looks like a eBay job for a clutch.
Only around £10 more expensive.

Also worth comparing VR6 kits with the 16v / TDI kits as sometimes they actually come up cheaper for some odd reason.

Yes mate, hence i kept hold of my 16v kit as a spare for my TDI wagon but decided if the clutch goes il get an upgrade instead as the engine power is going up anyway and the torque on these when tuned is renowned for killing clutches.

oh ok cant believe price difference i would of always though GTI would be cheaper than VR6  but im not complaining so this is a straight fit no modifications.

Sorry for not replying but I have being at my unit that dosen't have internet as yet! (bt do things in there on time). I say sachs - luk or borg and beck are all similar clutches.

I do the later 8v borg and beck kit for £82 and the 16v kit is £88 (I can't sell clutches any cheaper, then again I believe I am a it cheaper for mine than ecp and gsf?). If you need other items I'm sure I can come to some deal.

VR6 clutch should be number 3000 384 001 and 16v 94+ is 3000 332 001 (both are 228mm clutch kits, I can buy sachs from Germany but they are e180 over there! I still don't understand why German brands are so much more expensive in the home country (I sell febi back to Germany as I'm much cheaper than a local seller!))

Well like anything engine it depends on how much you want to throw at but with the few bits and pieces ive accumulated im hoping for a jump from the stock 90bhp to roughly 140ish bhp and more torque than a standard VR6.
Start pushing any more fuel through the tiny standard turbo and it'll be smoking more than dungeness power station.
I'll see how that goes first then decide on whether I stick a larger VNT turbo on there or go straight for a PD130 conversion...funds permitting then you're talking over 300bhp with the right map and mods.

Whats fuel consumption like? I might be changing career soon and will loose the free diesel card  so been looking at diesels lately but not sure what to get. But if I can have a 300bhp that returns good bhp then I now what I want

Im getting about 520 ish miles to a tank at the moment but it desperately needs servicing and the thermostat changed. Once that's done and the chips are fitted im expecting at least 600.
Over on tdiclub website there are people boasting 8-900 mile range on certain biodiesels!!!
I reckon even running big usable power on derv you can still get over 40mpg which aint to be frowned upon.
