Hi there I have a 1.3 mk2 golf 4+e 8v and am wondering if it's possible to convert it to 16v and if so what head would I need to do it thanks

to just put the engine in and do the bare minimum work to have it running, would say 16v engine (from a mk2 gti), gearbox, linkage i think is different, driveshalfts, exhaust, wiring loom, engine ecu, clutch cable is different i think.
but if you wanted to go all out, you would be changing the mk2 16v engine for a mk3 16v engine, hydrolic pdeal for clutch, cable shift gearbox (and matching linkage) uprated front brakes, change the rear drums to mk2 discs (or maybe even mk3 rear discs with mk4 calipers if you really wanted) clocks, wiring loom, ecu, intake, radiator, the list goes on
best advise, either just buy a 8v or 16v (only saying as i have to, i prefere building my own ) or find a good donor mk3 golf 16v gti, strip down both cars and transfer everything you want over, best way in my opinion to learn your own car inside out (literally) put everything where you want it, and best of all, enjoy every second of it knowing you built it!
