Title: Mapping a mk2 vr6
Post by: *tell* on 17 February 2014, 21:41
Is this still possible?
It was a 2.8  with a eBay chip in the ecu
It's now a 2.9

It is always possible.

I looked into when  I had my VR and although the top end figures only increase about 8bhp the mid range was meant to be a lot stronger.

I personally think its a lot of money for not a lot of gain and you would be better off getting cam's or saving for forced induction

True it has cams. I'm think the eBay chip is just overfilling it.
Going to keep it n/a

I know VWPartsInternational have a stage one and two chip that is meant to be ok but I can't speak from experience.

The best bet is to keep it as is and if you fancy something faster with the same sound go R32 hunting!
