Title: advice on engine cutting out
Post by: wilso84 on 13 February 2014, 20:55
Hi all,
I bought a 1.9 GTI TDI last year and have since had problems with the engine cutting out after a few miles. It sounded and felt like not enough fuel was coming through so i changed the fuel filter, aswell as oil and air at the same time. The problem is persistent, although not all the time. Someone has suggested changing the wiring loom for the injectors. Does this sound correct, or has anybody got any other suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah do they not have a low pressure fuel pump feeding the high pressure pump on the engine. seems like a good place to start anyway.
