Title: What do you think of this? GTI 180.

Just browsing the small ads and wondered whether the GTI 180's are worth the extra few quid, (ie. fuel and tax) or whether i should just go for the standard 150hp models...

It look's nice and tidy. The fuel will be negligible as it is the same engine just different map, if anything it would be better on a run as it's 6 speed. The tax I can't comment as mine is pre March 2001.

The benefits of the 180 is you get 312mm brakes. And the inside hasn't got the wood which you will be thankful for.

It won't have Recaro's but a set can be picked up on here easily enough,

At the end of the day you need to decide mate.

Is it just my eyes or does there look to be some damage to the arches in these pics?
Looks like an easy enough fix though, which then begs the question 'why hasn't it been fixed'....

Yeah the front arch/ wing does look dented. Like you said easy fix and it could be a bargaining point get some knocked off. But it all depends on what the rest is like in the metal.

Front n/s arch is dented, as is the rear o/s and front bumper has a scuff on the o/s corner as well.

You're talking an 'easy fix' but it could well run into a few hundred £.

For £1500 or possibly less plus it has a years ticket, i think its pretty reasonable. Mind its at 180 spec :wink:

Can someone clarify "Electronic Differential Lock" on the spec?

Edit... - EDL is the ESP....sorry thought it was to with something else.
