Title: Just Ordered GTI

Hi,

Just ordered a Tornado Red GTI (5 Door, Manual, Discover Nav & Winter Pack), with an estimated delivery date of late April. Dealer is hoping to amend a BW13 car to my spec.

This will be my first Volkswagen, although I currently drive an A3 Cabriolet. Had considered the new A3 Sportback, but by the time I'd added the options I wanted the price was very similar to the GTI - and the A3 would have been a 1.4 as opposed to the 2.0 in the GTI.

I've driven a demonstrator, and the driving experience couldn't be more different to my A3 (105PS Diesel vs 220PS Petrol), and a 0-60 time in the A3 which is getting on for double that of the GTI. I don't do that many miles a year, so the extra cost of fuel isn't a huge issue.
