I have a baileys dump valve (atmospheric) which is would like to take off and install a recirc valve. What piping would I need to put the car back to standard ? The dump valve is located next to the throttle body with piping running round the back near the maf and also 2 points blanked off at the back of the engine.
Thanks
Mike.

just drop a forge 007 or 008 in its place

Take one of the bungs and put it where the DV is now, then remove the other. The DV should sit in the hole in the TIP, then you'll need the S shaped pipe which connects the DV to the stainless turbo outlet pipe (you'll have to get this from a breaker). Then connect the DV to a vac source which should be a metal pipe on the side of your head (it might even be the same one your DV is currently connected to)
Get some pics up but it should be fairly straightforward
-
Yeah think I will get some pictures up think it will be easier ;-). I have seen the 007 recirc but they have the extra branch off compared to the baileys and don't have the piping for that so think im missing something or don't have the correct pipe work.

You're going to need a new intercooler to throttle body pipe, along with the DV to charge pipe, pipe. You'd probably be best off buying th creation Motorsport boost set for about £80 as it will include both of these and upgrade other pipe in the boost pipe work with silicone.
As for the DV you may aswell get the new revision from Audi/ VW as it will only cost you 30 quid.

Creation motorsport pipes are crap.
YOu need to join the 2 bungs up at the rear of the engine with the dump valve put in the TIP. Then you have a pipe with a 's' shape connecting from the charge pipe to the dump valve.
Id use one of those bungs in the throttle body pipe to blank it off. itll get you by.
-
Thanks for the info, yeah putting a bung in the pipe on the throttle body should do the trick. Does any one have a picture of it set up with the recirc valve just so I know what I need to do/get.
Thanks
Mike.

dv could also be fitted to where it is now, on the cold side. supposedly better cause its colder charge air going back into tip but whether it makes a difference or placebo effect is another matter.
if you want to do that, simply fit the dv where it is now, remove the bung on the tip and run a pipe from the dv to the tip.

Id have to disagree there, I got full CM piping and I have found them fine.
-
You get what you pay for, they're pretty restrictive and quality can be hit and miss.
-
Like dom said hit and miss, my first set fit was abit too tight ie pancaked a lot then the second batch great
-
I also disagree never had any problems with creation motorsport pipes
-
where your dump valve is is where iv been told to fit it for best results.
-
The TIPs are crap. Far too restrictive (smaller than the forge) and some have been known to collapse on bigger powered 1.8T setups.

And Again
The SFS/R-tech oversize TIPS give even more power than the forge TIPs....just shows the quality you get when you buy cheap and how far the tuning 1.8T game has come.
-
That's a really interesting post Chris :afro:
-
Shown how it is.
Too many people jump on the bandwagon for cheap parts and think they have the best performance. might feel a 'gain' over stock hardware, but if your wanting to do something properly, then well worth researching true facts and figures/gains before spending/wasting £80 on hardware that isnt going to flow.
-
The neck on the CM TIP looks tiny!
-
Well to be fair im never looking to run big power and the cm tip is alot better than stock. I will see when it goes into rtech to see if the gains are good and what they advise for my setup
-
marginally better than stock is what id say.
R-tech will recommend the oversize TIPs.
In all fairness, i wouldnt waste my money on the CM tips....but hey....what do I know
-
I never said you didnt know what your talking about my point was that my experience with the cm tip is good nothing more
-
I think your missing the point im trying to make.
Your spending £80 on a intake pipe that is at best marginally better. its not magnificent, brilliant, or even good. You might aswell spend £45 extra and get a SFS oversize TIP, which is proven for more delta power across the board.
-
No i see what your saying bud just at the time i didnt have this information lol
