Need to buy a boot liner for my GTD. Some differentiate between the high and low boot setting. Do most people use the high or low setting. My car was delivered with boot floor in high position but seems to make more sense to keep the floor at the lower position. Any disadvantages in doing this?
-
Mines been in the low position from new and had no reason to move it
-
Yes I can't see any reason not to use the low setting unless boot mats don't fit so good or something like that. Begs the question why do they offer the two heights anyway.
-
I keep mine in the higher position giving me storage under the boot floor for stuff I don't need day to day but need to carry.
-
Sorry for about to sound stupid but does the removable floor slot in for the lower position? I took mine out re previous car and never thought to see if it could be used lower down. Thanks
-
Yes mate, it sits just above the spare wheel so no need to take it out.
I prefer to leave it in the upper position as i like to hang carrier bags on the 4 hooks in the boot, they don't reach if it's in the lower position.

Flippin ek, I've sealed it up in PVC and put it up the hay loft today, first thing in the morning guess what I'll be getting out! :) the value of the forum strikes again, many thanks.

I usually leave mine in the upper position then i can put stuff under it that i don't use very often.
Our Polo has the same feature too. It is a bit pointless really but i guess some people are in to that kind of thing.

AP69 - you took out the boot floor covering??? Why would you do that, leaves the spare wheel and all exposed surely?
-
Reading this, I was thinking "hooks, what hooks?" Just been out and looked - sure enough 4 hooks. Amazing the things you don't notice on a new car.

Not sure why three question marks, but yes it was taken out to fit something in there semi permanently.

The hooks are great for shopping although a bit of a stretch to reach in I find...

Is there some kind of luggage/cargo net or strap for the Mk7?
