Title: revs high on idle speed unless throttle blipped
Post by: rids on 07 February 2014, 19:14
as title, (8 valve digifant) revs hang on sometimes as car goes to tickover, if i blip throttle revs fall to idle speed.
I've fitted a brand new idle stabilisation valve but it hasnt changed anything. If i blank off both hoses to valve, once car is warm it runs great.  anybody any ideas??

could be your throttle cable or linkage sticking.

It's nothing as obvious as that

Mine does this occasionally and has done so for some time. I've never found the reason for it so would be interested to hear any theories. I've got used to dropping the clutch slightly to bring the revs back to around 850.

Mine runs perfect with the idle stabilisation valve isolated and the hoses blanked off. My gut feeling is its an electrical fault

Check the throttle closed switch on the throttle body
